A Fine Balance
Helping people find their joy.
What I Do
“How am I unintentionally shaping my team's culture, through what I reward, tolerate, avoid, or rush past?”
“What do my people need from me that I’m not seeing yet, and what’s getting in the way of my giving it?”
My work involves helping you answer those questions through coaching, retreats, and group facilitation that help groups get to what matters most through creative and effective processes. Whether I’m guiding an individual or holding a focused container for a team, I bring a calm, skilled presence that blends thoughtful structure with real-time intuition, listening for what’s said (and what’s not), drawing out honest insight, and turning big, meaningful conversations into clear next steps. I believe it is my calling to help people more fully understand who they are meant to be so they can live a life brimming with joy, both personally and professionally, even in the face of life’s inevitable suffering.
“Lori’s work truly helps transform people and places. Her leadership style is expressive, energizing, enthusiastic, and down-to-earth. She knows how to cut through the clutter and help leaders rediscover what’s truly important both personally and professionally.”
-Charla Belinski, YouthZone (local non-profit) Board President
“Lori is a smart, joy-filled teacher who strives to help her trainees and clients to better understand themselves and, therefore, how to work well with others. She has a wealth of experience in the non-profit sector and brings her passion for community to every setting.”
-Wendy Huber, Priest, Mediator, and Facilitator
"Lori facilitated a team development meeting with my new team, and she was a pleasure to work with. She was able to build consensus, spark new ideas, and keep things moving. She made it both fun and productive for the team - I got great feedback and the outcomes I was hoping for."
- Julia Theisen, Tourism Director, Town of Snowmass Village

The Enneagram and DISC Model
My Guiding Philosophy
Gaining self-awareness through the lens of the Enneagram and DISC models is integral to our approach. By utilizing these models and enhancing that knowledge with experiential learning, you will be well on your way to embracing your true nature and filling your life with joy. You will begin to have choices in your responses, choices in how you show up, and choices in keeping what works well in your life. Life will become less stressful as you find freedom from your old habits.
Enhancing self-awareness through the Enneagram and DISC models is central to A Fine Balance's approach. By integrating these models with experiential learning, you embark on a journey to embrace your true nature and bring joy into your life.
You’ll learn to make conscious choices about how you respond, how you show up for yourself and others, and how to keep and grow what works well in your life. As you break free from old habits, life becomes less stressful as you enjoy greater freedom. These basic elements and core philosophies work with individuals, teams, and leaders on a powerful path to self-discovery.
A Fine Balance engages three centers of being: the Body, Mind, and Spirit.
My Approach for the BODY:
Playing with purpose – rekindle your kid
Engaging our bodies to more fully experience life
Noticing your physical reactions
No personal training here, just body awareness and a playful attitude
My Approach for the MIND:
At A Fine Balance, the power of the mind is cultivated as an adventure in itself. You will evoke the courage to play and dream wildly so you can create the story of success you dream about.
Exploration of internal messages that prevent you from being your best self
Building self-awareness will lead to more satisfying relationships
Increasing your ability to let go of the things in your life that no longer work for you and enhance the areas you want to cultivate
My Approach for the HEART:
Our hearts need care, and time for you to nurture your heart is always included.
Meditation/prayer/quiet time to develop self-awareness
Poetry and inspirational storytelling
Relaxation techniques
Ways to help your spirit catch up with your life
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
― Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967.
